On a wet and overcast morning we left Naples on the ferry to the Isle of Capri. From the ferry we had a great view of Naples and the harbour and although it was raining our trip to Capri was smooth. Upon arriving we were quickly transported in a mini bus up the hill into the town where our group assembled and the guide took us for a walk through the town for a view from the other side of the island. What a view, we were perched on a lookout many hundreds of feet above the sea, it was a steep drop to the ocean.
The rain was intermittent now and we could take photos, there were beautiful gardens everywhere, semi tropical plants were growing and we were told that the warm ocean created a micro climate which enabled exotic plants to flourish.
We were meant to visit the Blue Grotto but this was cancelled due to the rough weather. To visit the Blue Grotto you are taken by launch to close to the entry and then transferred to a small row boat and taken into the entry, in rough weater and high tides the row boats cannot gain entry as the sea water covers the entry. We took a trip up the mountain to visit Anacapri, a small mountain top town with tourist sights, restaurants and shops. This was a good tour with spectacular views from the small, winding road with U turn corners which cause your blood pressure to rise.

shame about the wet day, but you still took lovely photos, and im sure it was still a joy to see. ive put capri on my 'must see' list recently... missing italy!
