We had an overnight stay at this city hotel whilst waiting for a flight to Hamilton Island. The hotel has 2 sections, the original hotel which must be 50 or more years old and I was told by a guest the rooms were very small but value for the low price. We stayed in the tower apartment which has recently been refurbished, our room was spacious and comfortable,a good sized bathroom, very clean. The room also had a kitchenette, airconditioning and a balcony, free undercover parking was provided. Buffet breakfast was included in the price. It is a five minute walk to the city's central shopping centre, 15 minute walk to Southbank. The hotel was rated 4 star. Room cost was AU$140 per night
Unique Qualities: Character hotel ( original section), 5 minute walk to the City's central business and shopping area.

We had 2 nights in a deluxe room on the 6th floor, very nicely furnished, recently refurbished with plenty of space, included was a good sized coffee table and 2 very comfortable chairs, refrigerator, kettle etc etc. Our room was on the top floor and had a view over the beautiful Roma Street parklands. Buffet breakfast was included, the restaurant had a nice alfresco area overlooking the outdoor pool. There is a small laundry available for guest use, and undercover security parking available at Au $7.50 per day. Deluxe room tariff Au $185 per night. We enjoyed our stay and would return again. The hotel also has an older section where renovations had just commenced when we visited the first week of September, 2006.
Unique Qualities: Very comfortable room and good service.

johanl Sun Jun 8, 2008 09:02 UTC Great tips on the east coast of Australia. Planning a trip next year from Melbourne to Cairns by motorhome. Any suggestions on what to see and do ?? Thanks. Have a great weekend. | blint Tue Jan 22, 2008 01:26 UTC I have heard of the stacker system but I had never imagined exactly how it worked before! Your photo was very informative! | BruceMcDonald Tue Jan 15, 2008 05:56 UTC The Stinson memorial at O'Reilly's Guesthouse is on Robers Plateau in Lamington National Park, not Tamborine Mountain. If anyone goes to Tamborine, they will still have about one and a quarter hours drive to get to O'Reillys which is on another mountain. | RafaelTheSecond Sun Oct 21, 2007 05:20 UTC Brisbane is another very interesting city of Australia!!! I would love to learn more about it!;) |
