We were in Noosa for the last week of winter and on the last day went for a walk along the beachfront. As on previous days the sun shone, hundreds of people were on the beach and in the water. What a fabulous place to escape from the cold southern Australian winter.

When travelling it is sometimes best to arrange your visit to coincide with a local festival. By sheer luck we were in town for the start of the Noosa Jazz Festival which had some great musicians such as James Morrison.

Noosa is located on Queensland's Sunshine Coast approximately 1.5 hours drive from Brisbane. The area is one of astonishing beauty, many attractions including Steve Irwin's Australian Zoo less than an hour's drive.
We took a guided four wheel drive tour to Fraser Island which would be one of the best tours I have taken anywhere in the world. Make certain you visit the Eumundi Markets held on Wednesday's and Saturday, large and amusing, you will be sure to find something you want to buy.
