This new hotel opened on 1st August and we were lucky to stay there Saturday night. Conviently located next to the Burswood International Resort Casino, and only 3 km from the city centre this is a fabulous mid rate hotel operated by Intercontinental Hotels group. which also operates the casino hotel. Your room card enables you to dine at the Casino with charge back facility to Holiday Inn. The hotel had only been trading for 12 days when we arrived and there was a check in delay of 15 minutes. This was teething problems compounded by the low cost opening special and the Leo Sayer Concert being held that evening at the adjoining Burswood Theatre. We had an opening special price of Aust $99 , including hot buffet breakfast given to as as frequent guests of the Burswood international Resort Casino. Current opening special $138 incldes breakfast and is available for several months. The Holiday Inn only has one restaurant, so we chose to take a 3 minute walk and dine at the Victoria Station restaurant in the casino. This restaurant is a regular Gold Plate award winner. Following dinner we spent a short time in the huge main gambling hall observing the action. This is a non smoking venue. We had problems with airconditioning, it would not go below 22C and the bed had a heavy duna combined within the sheet. We were overwarm even after turning of airconditioning
Unique Qualities: There is a nice pool area with a distant view of the parkland/ golf course. Some good pool seating, however it is winter and no one used this facility. There is a indoor health centre which overlooks the pool area. It contains a variety of walking, running and cycling machines, all upmarket gear, there must be a dozen or so machines. Our room had a great view of the casino hotel, and at night it was an exciting sight, cars everywhere and lights ablaze.

I have most probably stayed at this hotel on at least 10 occassions and never been disappointed. We have always been given a good room, there are a number of good restaurants to dine in or if you only need a light meal you can eat at the food court near the casino. The hotel is operated by the Intercontinental Group and sets high standards, the facilities are excellent including luxury swimming pool, gym, 18 hole golf course, nightclub etc etc.Should this not be enough you can chance your luck in the casino.

This hotel is part of the Intercontinental chain and falls into the 4 star or better category. We stayed there overnight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had an enjoyable time, however we felt our room was let down by the bed which had seen better days and was not what we expected from a 4 star establishment.Location was good, valet secure parking Au$7.50, a nice pool, gymnasium which we did not enter and very friendly staff. The "Jewel in The Crown" was the Gusti Restaurant on the ground floor, our evening meal was superb, the service good and a nice atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning matched the standard and the quality of food on offer was outstanding.
Unique Qualities: A fantastic restaurant, great views of the Swan River and South Perth, and only a 15 minute walk to the city centre.

hopang Wed Jul 1, 2009 13:48 UTC Superb page on your home city. Bring back fond memories of our trip to Perth 20 years ago! Thanks for visiting our Turkey page. The best seasons to visit Turkey are spring and autumn when it is not too hot and not too cold. ~ho & pang | Yaqui Thu Apr 30, 2009 04:26 UTC Howdy Mike, what a lovely sunset and the Swan River looks so lovely!
