Port Fairy is a seaside town on the Great Ocean Road in the south West of Victoria.We found it to be a fabulous place to stay overnight but to see it properly you really need several days. It would be ideal for a holiday during the holiday season.The town is a walk through history, charming old homes. modest homes and stately buildings are everywhere. The National Trust has classified more than 50. The town was one of Victoria's earliest ports and during the 19th century was second to Sydney as Australia's largest port. The port is situated on the Moyne River where docks line the banks for use by the large fishing fleet and holiday charter boats. There are several hotels and many restaurants providing good meals.
