Wanaka is only 30 minutes driving from Queenstown. This was our destination before Queenstown. We started driving at 12 from Fox and reach wanaka at around 4pm. You know you reach Wanaka when you see the two twin Lake in front of you: Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka. There are 2 township: Hawea and Wanaka. Wanaka is the bigger one. We wanted to sky dive on our next day but the weather forecast showed there was going to be a storm - we should've stayed 2 nights instead of 1 night only. This is a small town but I love the atmosphere. Feel so cozy and relaxing - it's nice getaway if you feel that Quenstown is too touristy. |
