I don't give up that easily.
IT RAINED

We got there and it was drizzly. There were mudslides. We parked near the IRS building that was being pumped out. Roads were closed. ALL the museums were closed.

Then my niece puked near the Washington Monument....Oh, memories....

But I was NOT about to leave. I made sure all ELEVEN of us did everything we could, even if it made them all MISERABLE!

Then we got out in a hurry.

RE-ENACTMENT

Suzy left a little bit of herself at our nation's capital, leaving it, in her opinion, a little greater than it was before. She soon felt better, so we made sure to revisit the area the next morning.

The rain held up long enough for us to visit most of the monuments without getting soaked, and we made our scheduled capitol tour, courtesy of our congressional representative, despite long delays on the subway which was a result of TOO MUCH RAIN!

The last monument we hit on the mall. And we almost made it without getting drenched! But we soon saw a menacing cloud creep slowly across the green. Tourists stared into it and then ran screaming in every direction in search of shelter at the last minute. Where was my video camera? It was like a scene from the day after tomorrow.
