Presumingly the longest constant period of development of any monument in Southeast Asia, settling from the early 8th to the 15th centuries, My Son is one of the three most important of the Champa kingdom. Chinese influence and a very strong Indian culture can be seen in it's graceful sculptures and building.
Thought to have been an important Cham intellectual and religious centre and probably the burial place of Cham kings, My Son was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.

(Tours from several operators in Hoi An and Danang)
A jeep (or van) takes you 1.5km from the ticket office to the site (no need to pay as this service is included in the entrance fee).
