The area around Ferrylanding dock is a lovely, clean, relaxing - just beautiful area.
What to do there? Eat in a few restaurants around, lie or sit on a grass and admire the beautiful skyline, Pacific bay, watch people etc. From Linda (lmkluque):Ferrylanding is the name of the area around the Ferrylanding Dock. Besides that which you mentioned, there are also stores in this area. These stores are mainly for tourists, and it is possible to rent bikes here also. Thank you Linda!

You can meet some birds (hmm... how are they called in English?) on the Coronado Beach. From CHRIS (balfor):The bird you have a picture of on your Birds of Coronado are either Albatross or Seagulls. They are very closely related birds and I can't really tell the difference between them. Thank you Chris! From LINDA (lmkluque):The bird in your photo is a seagull, we don't have albatros here--that I know of. :-) Thank you Linda! From me: Really? There are no albatroses in San Diego? Unbelievable :-))). What about importing them from... hmmm... I don't know?

Whenever you are in Coronado you simply must visit the Coronado Beach - it's a sandy beach, well equipped in all beach facilities. No words... it's just a beautiful area.
The Travel Channel names Coronado as one of North America's Top 10 Beaches - no wonder.
By the way, I have never seen rocky beaches with people sitting/lieying on the rocks (hehe) in the USA, is it exclusively European custom? From LINDA (lmkluque):The correct term is Coronado Beach, not Coronado Pacific Beach. Coronado Beach is a beach area on the Pacific Ocean. There is a place called Pacific Beach between Mission Beach and La Jolla. Thank you Linda.

Do you like an ocean with its high waves and its sounds? Go to the Coronado Beach. Hmm... maybe you prefer high mountains with amazing views? As for me I have mountains close to my hometown, a sea (cold Baltic Sea) is about 500 km (350 miles) north - a little far :-(((.

vixancs Thu Dec 20, 2007 21:26 UTC In Bulgaria we call it a riksha ,pl-rikshi :) | kyoub Fri Feb 16, 2007 13:01 UTC A great page on another lovely California beach town. The bird on your page is a Solitary Sandpiper, I believe. | Pawtuxet Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:31 UTC Returning to your Coronado to enjoy another sunny day at the beach. It's a lovely area. | JLBG Fri Sep 22, 2006 05:39 UTC Sure the bird is neither an albatross nor a sea gull (long beak, tall legs, coat don't fit). Might be either an American Bittern or better a Ruff but I have no book on American birds to be sure. You have extensively visited South Ca, I was more on North! |
