PARKING LOT BY TUCSON CONVENTION CENTER - Tucson

PARKING LOT BY TUCSON CONVENTION CENTER

Parking a car Driving in Tucson Review

Driving around Tucson I must admit that I didn't have a lot of problems with finding a parking lot for my car. Surely it's not so easy to find a free parking in a downtown (there are parkometers with limited parking time at daytime in business days), but there are a lot of parkings around Tucson Convention Center. Look at my picture and follow the link below.

CENTER LANE INFO TRAFFIC SIGN - Tucson

CENTER LANE INFO TRAFFIC SIGN

Center lane Driving in Tucson Review

Wear good glasses, enlarge my picture and look at this strange (for me ;-) traffic signs with left-bended arrows. It's written "center lane" above and "only" below the arrows. So, center lane on a street is designated ONLY for left turn traffic. It does mean that this center lane is for both directions but exclusively for vehicles which are going to turn left ----> don't drive this lane otherwise. Is it clear?

Empty streets? Driving in Tucson Review

I was driving around Tucson just before (and after) sunset on business day. Streets were mostly empty or almost empty. It seems that rush hours were a few hours earlier. As I know they usually work 8am - 5pm.

Rent a car in Tucson You need a car to get around Review

No public transportation is available to or within either district of Saguaro National Park.

You must rent a car in Tucson to get there. Hmm... there are many car rental agencies in Tucson to choose from.

I didn't rent a car there I did rent my Buick Century at Budget rent a car agency in San Diego. And I was very satisfied about Budget. So, you can try to rent your car at Budget (6 locations including at Tucson Airport):

I-10 ON USA MAP - Tucson

I-10 ON USA MAP

My two questions for you!

As I already said Tucson is located by one of the main USA highways: trascontinental Interstate 10 freeway (I-10) which goes from Jacksonville at the Atlantic Ocean in Florida to Santa Monica at the Pacific Ocean in California.

To be honest it was one of my many possible itineraries I thought over before my USA trip. And from point 1 to 11 still is.

Enlarge my map, please and look at my/your? possible stops:
1 - Jacksonville, Florida (mile 0)
2 - Tallahassee, Florida (mile 198)
3 - Mobile, Alabama (mile 438)
4 - Biloxi, Mississipi (mile 495)
5 - New Orleans, Louisiana (mile 580)
6 - Baton Rouge, Louisiana (mile 664)
7 - Lafayette, Louisiana (mile 718)
8 - Beaumont, Texas (mile 849)
9 - Houston, Texas (mile 936)
10 - San Antonio, Texas (mile 1141)
11 - El Paso, Texas (mile 1693)
12 - Las Cruces, New Mexico (mile 1736)
13 - TUCSON, Arizona (mile 2010)
14 - Phoenix, Arizona (mile 2124)
15 - Los Angeles, California (mile 2499)
16 - Santa Monica, California (mile 2512.5 = 4043.5 km!)

My two questions:
1. Which month is the best to do the above itinerary (NO heat, please :-)?
2. Are the above stops interesting? What to add and what to skip?
Please e-mail me your suggestions for my future use. Thank you very much :-).

TO TUCSON DOWNTOWN - Tucson

TO TUCSON DOWNTOWN

By a car to Tucson Driving in Tucson Review

Tucson is located on Interstate 10 (I-10)

I drove from Yuma I-8 and than I-10 towards Tucson (both were of two lanes in each direction). I took exit 236 in Marana that is 23 miles (37 km, 30 min.) northwest of Tucson. I drove southward to Saguaro National Park (western part) first. Then I drove to Tucson.

Driving without wearing your seat belt is forbidden in Arizona.
