Luggage and bags: City backpack or small bag but, as usual in European cities, in crowded places in downtown cash and cards should be placed close to your body to avoid smart pickpockets.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Dress for the season and keep an umbrella handy. It can rain at any point in the year. Warning: sometimes there are very hot days in summer and very cold in winter. Wear good comfy walking shoes if you are going to walk a lot.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: In my train (EuroCity) to Warsaw there was no water and no paper in toilet/restroom... it happened to me the first time - maybe the last one but... you are warned.

Miscellaneous: I'd recommend to bring SIM-unlocked mobile phone to call taxi (it's cheaper and more comfortable then to look for them) and to book a table in the busiest restaurants/pubs. The cheapest card for a mobile phone cost a few euros.
