Thank you very, very much :-)))
Wawolnica (pronuanced: Vowvolnitza) is without doubt off the beaten path. I stopped there for a moment driving from Naleczow to Kazimierz Dolny.
The village of 1300 citizens (first mentioned in 1027) is rich in both glorious and sad history and has a few interesting objects.

I lived in Wawolnica, Poland. There is nothing to do there but get drunk and stand around in the square. There is one kiosk, and three grocery stores. No cinema. One bank. Must go to Naleczow or Kazimierz.
Mat, another fabulous little page about one of the hidden Polish gems. Have a nice sunny Sunday afternoon ... :-)
Thank you for showing us this lovely village, another victim of Soviet oppression in Poland.
I have always a crush for these small places that nobody visits. They have often more to offer than expected at first !
good you show us this little place too, Maciek! How they must have suffered unknown to the rest of the world! It definitely is POLAND that suffered most last century, what kind of world is this, you wonder? elisabeth
Fascinating page, Matt! Wonderful and sad at the same time! Small places sometimes give a better insight than big, touristy places. Thanks!
Sad place....can I have happy ones....
Fantastic! I love these little places!
Glorious and sad history...
Nice page. Such places are usually called "hidden treasures".
