RAILWAY STATION - Riomaggiore

RAILWAY STATION

Train is the best way to get there

Train is the best way to get to Riomaggiore, I suppose. There is a stop (railway station) in each of 5 villages of Cinque Terre (line Genova - La Spezia).

Check pages with european timetables:

page of German Railways (Deutche Bundesbahn) in English,

page of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in English
.

.
HAVE GREAT TRAIN TRIPS :-))))

RIOMAGGIORE - Riomaggiore

RIOMAGGIORE

Walking/hiking

The only way of getting around is on foot or for crazy VT-ers: a bicycle (hmm... mountain bicycle I could say).
So walk/hike or rather climb up and down.

I PARKED A CAR CLOSE TO THE CHURCH - Riomaggiore

I PARKED A CAR CLOSE TO THE CHURCH

By a car

I got to Riomaggiore by a car. I had no problem with parking a car (somewhere close to Parish Church) but... it maybe difficult in some weekends, I am sure.

The road to Riomaggiore was FANTASTIC and crazy: thousands of bends, narrow, very narrow asphalt road (use a horn before each bend), dark like in a jungle at some places but... cool :-))) - highly recommended for crazy drivers hehe.

I wanted to drive to next village of Manarola but... the road was... rocky and I had almost a new car that time so finally I did U-turn on the top of the hill and came back to Riomaggiore :-(((( although I saw old Italian cars and not only all terrain 4 x 4 driving that "road" or rather rocky path.
