Charming city to relax

Asilah was much more relaxing place than Tangier and Tetouan I visited before. I had a very nice time walking narrow streets among white houses which had to remind me Greece. The most unique are colorful local paintings on the houses' walls. Add impressive city walls and blue Atlantic Ocean. I needed it a lot :-).

Local art - paintings on houses' walls

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The paintings on the houses' walls, city walls, views of the ocean
  • Cons:Nothing more to do, no beach facilities

Very interesting page with fabulous photos. I enjoyed reading your personal stories like the one with the free jumps in the ocean or about the sleeping parking guard. Well done. :-)

I've just looked this up on the map to see where it is. Actually it's not far from Tangiers or Tetouan, but it really does look a lot more relaxed (and cleaner) than those cities in your photos. Nice white houses and blue ocean.

Another top page, Matt. I'm just impressed by those old walls and the white buildings - even if things are pretty quiet outside tourist season!

I enjoyed this tour of Asilah. You made it sound like a nice, relaxing place to visit. I like the white buildings too and the paintings on some of them make them look so colorful. Nice page Matt!

Thanks Matt for the Asilah comment. My sister had the ambition to spend a week there when I wanted to be based in Tangiers. You've saved me from the angst! Mike
