The iconic lemur must be the ring-tailed lemur. There are lots to be seen all over Madagascar!

All varieties of weather

July is winter in Madagascar, but it is absolutely impossible to advise anyone on what the weather will be like as it varies so much. I've never been to a country with such a diverse climate. As the centre is mountainous, it becomes very cool in the evenings. Coastal areas are generally sub tropical whilst the South has a desert climate and is really warm during the day. (The opposite of what you might expect for a Southern hemisphere country. Andasibe and Mantasoa were very wet in August, and again, very cool at night.
