Blue Sage B&B: Ashcroft - A great stop on route

The Blue Sage is a lovely guest house in the small town of Ashcroft BC. The accomodation was lovely and we were made very welcome by our hosts Gloria & Jim Duncan, There are only 4 rooms, all beautifully decorated. Breakfast is served on the balcony as long as it's warm enough.
Unique Qualities: There is a visitors lounge where guests can relax and watch DVDs or chat. Ashcroft doesn't have a lot to offer visitors, bit we managed to find a 'Greek' restaurant that served nice food.

Park Place Inn: Jasper accommodation

Park Place Inn is located right in the centre of Jasper, an excellent location for shops and restuarants. The accommodation was fantastic, everything was very luxurious, particularly the bathrooms. The hotel also has secure underground parking. What we found strange about this hotel is that it isn't really a hotel! There is a small lobby, but no restaurant, bar or any other public areas. It really consists of 14 rooms, 12 of which are on the first floor with the lobby. The other 2 rooms are accessible through a small shop on the ground floor! Having said this, it makes an ideal, very comfortable place to lay your head.

Deer Lodge: Very close to Lake Louise

This hotel is ideal if you want a slightly cheaper option to staying at the Fairmont Chateau which is actually on the Lake. Deer Lodge is quieter and only a few minutes walk away. They have some relatively cheap rooms, although if you go for this option, be prepared for the room to be very small. (No room for suitcases on the floor). The hotel has a real 'lodge' feel, decorated with dark wood and antlers.
Unique Qualities: There is a very good, very expensive restaurant. If this prooves to be too much, they do bar meals too.

A good place to stay on a road trip. The rooms are pleasant although a bit 'motel' like, and set out in blocks like a motel. They have a choice of places to eat as well as a well stocked shop and petrol (gas) pumps. There is a parking place outside each room.
Unique Qualities: This hotel has wonderful views from the restaurant and from some of the rooms. They have a good value dinner buffet available every day.

This B&B is located in a quiet neighbourhood close to the main street/crossroads in Radium Hot Springs. It is not quite in walking distance of the Hot Springs unless you're felling energetic. The accommodation is of very good quality and the owner. Margaret, produces an excellent breakfast.
Unique Qualities: We watched a number of deer grazing in the garden.

Tarry-a-While: Historic B&B

This historic B&B is located in a quiet street, close to the main street in Banff. The accommodation and breakfast are of a very high quality and lots of added extras are provided to make guests comfortable. The whole house has polished wooden floors or white carpets, so guests are required to take their shoes off at the door. It is owned by the Peter and Catharine Whyte Foundation, which operates Banff's famous Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies; and managed by Alysen (correct spelling I hope) who works really hard as a host, just as if she was the owner.
Unique Qualities: Lots of history makes this a really interesting place to stay.
