Barca d'Alva Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 8 photos

Located where the Agueda river meets Douro, this small and indistinctive village signals the place where Douro river stops acting as a border between Portugal and Spain, and starts to be only Portuguese. It is the most remote point of the cruises starting in Porto (2 overnight tours), or a starting point for those who come from Spain. It's hard to look at the abandoned railway, which has been a remarkable work of engineering, in its connection with spanish Fregeneda. And it is also a clear image of the progressively abandoned interior of the country.

É bom encontrar estes sítios bem portugueses por aqui. As fotos estão lindas!
