"El Salvador" Panchimalco by thatgreenkid

San Salvador is great and not as it used to be. During the 80s it was occupied by paramilitary forces and was in ruins. The aftermath of the war wasn't so bad, the streets were cleaner and walking around and about wasn't so bad.
It is now August 2005 and much has changed from my visits as a child in the 80s and 90s. The city is somewhat dangerous (excluding MetroCentro, Zona Rosa, El Escalon, San Benito and Santa Elena; they're real safe). There is an abundance of "maras" or gang members in the capital city.
My advice is as follows, no gold and wear your old...clothes that is.
