If during your stay in the resort you have either a birthday or anniversary and you wish to have a party, have a word with any of the owners of the bars and they will willingly put up bunting and balloons and order you a cake for your celebration.

Wheel and nozzle - Icmeler

Wheel and nozzle

Toilets

Has anyone who has been to Turkey wondered what that little wheel is for that is situated behind the toilet basin?.
It is in fact to control the flow of water through the little nozzle in the basin that washes the person after doing natures bidding.
It saves the use of paper and is very hygeinic.
That is why you eat with and shake hands with the right hand.

Bed Decoration

I dont know if this is a Turkish custom, but do know that it is done in all hotels and apartments, and that is the decorating of the guests beds with folded towels and flowers.
It is such a nice sight when arriving back in your room after a day out on the sands.

Handshakes and Kissing

The first time that I met a Turkish person they took my hand and shook it as though I was a long lost friend.
The Turkish handshake is not done with a strong grip but a loose one.
After you have formed a friendship you are greeted with an Handshake but also the kissing on both cheeks.
The first time it happened to me I was surprised because I am from a steel and coal area and men dont do those things.
The Turkish people are very loving and affectionate.
