I love Hong Kong I had the honour of working and living in Hong Kong for 16 months 2004-2005. I loved living there though the working hours leave a lot to be desired!
Anyhow, on the surface HK is a modern mega-city - skyscrapers, busy-busy, shops open 24/7, traffic... Scratch the surface and you'll find tiny alleys winding up steep hillsides with cheap market stalls, serence peaceful lush country parks and islands, tiny atmospheric temples with huge incense coils, manias for mah jong, Chinese traditions long since dead on the mainland. |
