Selawik is located in Northwestern Alaska, about 3 miles above the Arctic Circle. It is a fly in only village where just about 800 Inupiat (eskimo) people live.
Since Selawik is located above the Arctic Circle there is a period of time in the winter where it is mostly dark during the day. There is alos a period, during the summer, of 24 hour sunlight.
This is the Town Hall, police station and fire station of Selawik.
