"Hondarribia - touching the Bidasoa and the sea" Fuenterrabía by nomad7890

Hondarribia is a small fishing town between San Sebastian-Donostia and the Bidasoa river by the French border with a definite Basque personality. It is smaller and less touristy than San Sebastian-Donostia and offers and old town with a true historical feel and a whimsical fishing town with houses showing interesting character. I thoroughly loved San Sebastian, but it is much larger and busier, but I found the pace in Hondarribia just right, and the restaurants inviting. Perfect place to relax and take in some of the Basque culture ... and yes, a good place to practice a little Basque.
Agur for now.

- Pros:A rich variety of sights and tastes in a very small area
- Cons:Well, they say the parador is haunted ...

This looks like a colorful and picturesque town and, as you say, a good place to practice a little Basque – if only I had any! (Didn’t we meet at the big VT meeting in Karlsruhe in 2008?)
A delightful page and I enjoyed the tour! The sights here are wonderful.
