Santiago Step 1 | View from Virgin Mary Statue |
mmm, let's see Calgary to Toronto, Toronto to Dallas, Overnight flight Dallas to Santiago. Sleep all night, 15 minutes at a time. Take one of the vans at the airport to Plaza Amazones Hostel in Providencia. Drop gear, quick shower and head to Barrio Bellavista. Who needs sleep. I am in Santiago, no time for sleep now. I could just take the funicular to the top, but instead follow the road to the left from Plaza Caupolican and find this nice trail of switchbacks that I think might lead to the top where I can see the statue of the Virgin Mary. Wish I had brought some water. OK sit back and enjoy the view. |
| | Santiago Area Santiago is wedged in between the Andes so that makes it easy to explore the Andes close to the city. |
| | Plaza de Armas There are so many places to see: Architecture around Plaza de Armas, great restaurants, vineyards like Concha y Toro and the mountains close by. |
