If you really want to get off the tourist path (what little there is in Albania), Rreshen is a refreshing place situated out in the mountains of northern Albania. The town is located down in a valley, but there are beautiful mountain views in several directions. The road coming in from Kukes is spectacular but very dangerous.

Rreshen is located in a surprisingly Christian part of Albania. There is a beautiful new church in the center of town. The mountains to the northeast are dotted with spectacular monasteries perched atop cliffs overlooking deep gorges.

Nice tips and true right. I wonder if there could be new road from Tirana to Kukes..2 hours ? Am I right ?

My son in law is a native of Rreshen, he has lived in the UK since his marriage to my daughter some 8 years ago
