Where ever I go, Canada will always be my home. There's something fantastic about our country, our people, and our customs that's hard to explain. And while some don't understand our patriotism, all Canadians share that special bond with our country and to each other. However, this doesn't mean we don't like to travel and meet other people, quite the opposite. We are the 'friendly, nice, Canadians,' and excited to learn about the rest of the world!!!
However, I think (as cheesy as it is) home is where the heart is...can you have more than one home? I think so! I'm visiting 'home' right now in Vancouver, Canada. but I soon be returning 'home' to Guangzhou, China. I refer to GZ as home when I'm in Canada, and Vancouver as 'home' when I'm in China. When did the world get so complicated?
Anyway, I'm guessing that the definition of home changes as I change. Who knows...maybe one day home will be in South America, Europe, or Africa....my grandparents wouldn't know what to do....they still think China's strange. So for now, I'm at home. And please don't keep asking me where I'll be in 5 years...I don't know....but it will be fantastic wherever it is. |

| | Travels Travelling is one of the best parts of my life, and I have been lucky enough to be able to see so many different countries in a short amount of time.
Many of my pictures on this site have everything to do with me, my adventures, and my friends, and nothing about tips, nightlife, etc. If a picture and comment are on the site, the event was important to me.
If you travel, you know that the journey is what you make of it, and no one can tell you how good or bad something is....if you listen to everything everyone says, you'll miss out. Look at people sites, read the comments, but still go where you want. Only you can figure out if it's worth it. |
China And More Living in China has been such a great experience. From travelling, to learning the customs and the language, every day has been a challenge. The great thing about living in a foreign country is the ability to meet people from all over the world...and do things that you wouldn't necessarily do at home.
Definately everyone should live outside of their comfort zone for a short amount of time. I was surprised at how much strength I had inside and how inspired I was by different people and cultures. Had I stayed forever in Vancouver, I never would've known this.
Have you ever seen the Great wall of China? You should! | | |
| | Scenery Only in China will you see a 'bucket baby' on the street.
Why is this interesting? Why? Because it's a baby, in a bucket, on the street. Not just any street...YiDe Lu, one of the busiest streets in Guangzhou.
If I had a camera with me every second of every day I still could not capture all of the amazing things I have seen.
If you really look, there are incredible things everywhere....all you have to do is open your eyes. |
