Agadir is in Morocco but it is not typically Moroccan. It was rebuilt after a 1960s earthquake. Well if you are used to resorts and nothing else then I guess you may find Agadir okay. I'm amazed at how many people go and never leave the hotel, beach or main drag. You can get a day trip to Marrakech but you are missing out if you do not see the Square at night.
The only reason I went to Agadir is for the flight. I had to spend 2 nights there. The plus points are the beach, some good restaurants and the souk a few minutes taxi ride from the maid drag.
Apart from that it is hotels, overpriced tourist shops, the restaurants are over priced compared for Moroccan food. The beach and hotels are the same as many soulless European resorts.
There is a working port.
If you go to Agadir it is well worth going to visit other parts of Morocco.
I got approached by gays wanting sex. Not nice especially when they follow you into bars. |
