I usually return from a trip eager to read more about the place I've just visited. In this case the reverse is true. These two beautiful stories set in Guatemala were part of the reason that I chose to travel to that country. Both stories were written for children. The Most Beautiful Place in the World takes place in a village on the shore of Lake Atitlan and truly captures the spirit of this place and its people. |
| | Written for older children, Colibri is a story of hope and destiny, the story of a Mayan girl. The book draws you into her life, the customs and traditions of the Maya of Guatemala. It's a beautiful story that will draw you to Guatemala as well.
Both books were written by Ann Cameron who lived in Guatemala for over 20 years. |
