The service was fantastic. I could not do justice to the hospitality I experienced at this hotel. Everyone was helpful friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my comfort and needs. I spoke briefly to the manager about my stay and she sent up a basket of fruit and mineral water that evening along with a handwritten thank you!! The concierge Manny was a gem. One day I missed a friend who was to pick me up and Manny went to the T station to look for me. He knew I was upset about missing my friend. Upon my arrival, I asked for a refrigerator and got it within minutes, ditto when I asked for "fluffier" towels!!!!!! I'm picky and I was NOT disappointed. The staff referred to me by name. I will go back again!!!!! Good Job Doubletree!!!!!
Unique Qualities: The Doubletree is cozy without being too small. The lobby has a homey feel with a big goldfish tank and comfy sofas and a bar. There are cookies and Cold Ice tea in the lobby at night! There is a cozy room with free internet usage and less than 50 feet out the door and you're at the (T) stop for the orange line....Two stops and you're in Downtown Crossing. There are a ton of places within a short walking distance of the hotel. You go thru the parking lot and you are at the Wang Center in the heart of the Theater District. GREAT SERVICE SUPER LOCATION.

On my latest trip to Boston, I decided to be a little "adventurous" in an attempt to save $$ on lodging. After reading one of the message boards online which suggested Morrison House, I gave them a call. I'm glad I did. I made my reservation online with Ron one of the hosts. It was simple and quick. Everything about this place is great. I had the small room which was $75 per night, great view and included phone, clock/alarm, cd player, tv, dvd player and adequate closet space. I had access to computer and laundry facilities as well. Thanks Ron for showing me how to use that awesome washer! I shared a bathroom and it was no problem. I also had a great view of the street and neighborhood. The bed was oh so comfy as well. Every morning Ron or his wife Linda sets a great breakfast table which includes Linda's freshly baked goodies and the sweetest, freshest fruit and delicious bread. Breakfast also includes creal (five choices) coffee, juice and tea. Staying here is like being at home only better. If you book 7 nights you only pay for 6! A 15 day stay cost me $975 (including tax). In Boston, that's unheard of.
Unique Qualities: Location, attention to detail, the great neighborhood (check out JP Licks in Davis for outta site ice-cream while listening to street musicians in the evening or catch a movie ($4 matinee) at the Somerville Theater also in Davis Square, convenient location, clean, wonderful hosts (Ron practicing piano during the day), great breakfast!!!!!!

Jim_Eliason Sun Aug 26, 2007 21:56 UTC Nice page! | cymbaline77 Thu Jun 14, 2007 13:54 UTC I LOVE the enthusiasm about Boston! I (of course) love Boston, too. It is my home. I hope you have a great time in Somerville next month! Morrison House is within walking distance of where I live! | pchamlis Tue May 22, 2007 00:45 UTC Nothing sadder than a fifth-rate barbecue joint. :) I like Bahhhhston myself, and look forward to another visit to the Barking Crab for some chowdah. :) | yaya15923 Wed Dec 6, 2006 14:09 UTC I agree with your review on Redbones, not sure what all the hype is about. Although I do have to admit they make a kick booty Raspberry Margarita :o) |
