Boston I Will See You Again!!!!!

by Barbie2138 - last update: Nov 4, 2008

Life is Good in The Hub

A Crazy Auntie

When I visited Boston, I felt as though I'd been looking for the place all my life. Being there felt right. Maybe it's the city's literary tradition, or the fact that so many Africans made their way there desperately seeking freedom. The city fits me like a well worn, much beloved, tattered corduroy jacket which I wouldn't dare part with. I love the city's rhythm and even its imperfections. Boston reminds me of that crazy old auntie in every southern family who embarrasses you yet you wouldn't think of having a family reunion without her because she makes everything so lively!!! Boston is America in all its ambition, contradictions, energy and possibilities.
The Moakley Federal Courthouse
Inside the Moakley Federal Courthouse
was a portrait display honoring the
uniformed rescue workers who sacrificed
their lives on September 11 at the
World Trade Center. The courthouse
was the 11th of 12 venues across
the country which displayed the portraits
of these fallen heroes.

I was born in Boston but grew up in a city roughly 20 miles northwest of the city by the name of Lowell -- so I can understand your love for it. Thanks for your post; I enjoyed returning to Boston.

Great Review of the JFK museum! I need to come back and take a look at more of what you have written about Boston.

I LOVE the enthusiasm about Boston! I (of course) love Boston, too. It is my home. I hope you have a great time in Somerville next month! Morrison House is within walking distance of where I live!
