The Fishing Village | Sg Pinang Kechil, Pulau Pangkor |
Pulau Pangkor is only about 4 - 5 km from north to south, and 2 - 3 km from west to east at its greatest. There is a road round the island, mostly near the beach and you can go round the whole island in 20 minutes.
There are lots of hotels to choose from, and food and services are cheap and of reasonable quality.
Sungei Pinang Kechil is the name of the first stop of the ferry to Pangkor Island.
It is a fishing village mostly populated by Chinese fishermen. They are building a new jetty some distance away from the present one. |
| Evening At Pangkor Island Beach Resort |
| | "Golden Sands Beach" Used to be Golden Sands Resort, then Pan-Pacific, and now, it's Pangkor Island Beach Resort. |
| Teluk Ketapang, Windy Day |
| | Teluk Ketapang This beach is on the other side of the island ( west ).
Quite isolated in the afernoons, due to extreme heat.
The hotels are more to be found at Teluk Nipah, a short distance away. |
