  • Everyone talks about Chinatown and so why shouldn't you go there too ?

Lots of things to look at, even if you don't want to buy anything ! But who could resist the bargains ?

Nice Rolex for USD 10 ? Imagine ! But of course, fakes, so don't expect too much. And don't be upset if it fails to move after a month or so, you don't really lose much, but gain much entertainment and amusement. On the other hand, those "fakes" might perform as well as the original !

    Be prepared ...........

  • Moorish architecture, that's what they call this famous looking train station of Kuala Lumpur.

Perhaps the only attractive thing about the train station is the look, as the trains themselves are a great disapointment - old dilapidated, frequent delays, slow-moving and of course NOISY.

Don't look into the toilets yet ! They were horrible the last time I took the train ( 30 years ? ) but maybe now they're better -- keep me informed if you can.

  • The stalls are coming back in the morning, having closed around midnight.

Don't they need to sleep ?

But you know, Chinatowns all over are famed for their industrious occupants.

Now you see cars in the place of hundreds of vendors with their mobile carts.

    Batu Caves: The Famous Temple
  • Tip Rating:
  • Batu Caves Hindu Temple is famous for its annual crowd of 1 million devotees ( so they claim ) converging for a 2-day celebration.

If you are not afraid of being caught in a stampede you can try and catch them every year, usually in January.

  • Putrajaya is half an hour's drive away from Kuala Lumpur.

Should be worth a visit - it's ultra modern city -- the new administrative centre of Malaysia. Many people can't seem to leave Kuala Lumpur for this new place though, and so K Lumpur is still the place to be !

Excellent tips and photos of KL! It has been 25 years since I've been. Must return - I missed so much- those caves - the gardens. Birthday greetings from Alaska!
