Mixed-Up Kuala Lumpur

by gnh - last update: Aug 24, 2005

Twin Towers ? No No, Hilton/LeMeridien Hotels !

Twin Towers, K L Sentral
You can't deny these are Twin Towers too !

But they're not the famous Petronas Twin Towers that you expected !

Ha ha, I fooled you, but not for long ........

Wonder why I described it as mixed-up ? Many people come expecting something else ........ but then, they do discover much that they never expected either ......

So the best advice is - you won't be disappointed, unless you're looking for heaven !

Other facts :

Kuala Lumpur:

Population: 2 million, Chinese, Malay, Indian and other minor races PLUS lots of tourists !

Famous for the traffic jams, choked alleys, bargain shopping, never-say-die attitude.

Cheap backpacker hostels to 5-Star hotels and all sorts of food / cuisine available in Chinatown and Bukit Bintang for international tourists. Bangsar is for the local crowd.
The Real Twin Towers

Still Want To See The Towers ?

Well, OK OK, now you can see the real Twin Towers.

Photo taken approaching Kuala Lumpur around Jalan Duta Highway.

The Towers probably need another whole album by itself ...................

Fantastic Shopping ! CHINATOWN, K Lumpur

The famous Chinatown is where you should be heading to.

The things availbale there are more interesting than what the Twin Towers can offer you.

Chinatown is known for its cheap items for sale throughout the day ------ food glorious food at bargain prices, shoes, clothing, designer bags and electronic watches plus gadgets at unimaginable prices !

You should never miss this place if you ever come to Kuala Lumpur !

Excellent tips and photos of KL! It has been 25 years since I've been. Must return - I missed so much- those caves - the gardens. Birthday greetings from Alaska!
