I have to admit Banja Luka was a big suprise for me. I expected to see a ravaged city, pretty lifeless and just stagnating on the verge of death. And in fact, I found quite a lively city full of people with its specific charm. Scars of the past are still here though, especially if you check out the graffitis on the walls or some of the abandoned buildings in the city.

Banja Luka is quite a small city - I found it easier just to walk everywhere instead of trying to find public transport... more travel advice
