Take The Train

Delphi is compact enough to walk around the main sites and the town itself but if you do feel like putting your feet up there is this little novelty road train which loops around. I didn't actually use it but I think it was free of charge when I was there though that may have been because it was May and so out-of-season.

Bus to the Oracle

Travelling from the centre of Athens out to Delphi there are 6 daily departures from the bus station at Liossion ( a 10 minute walk North from Larissa Metro up Dheliyianni ) with a journey time of 3 hours and a one-way fare of 12.60 euro. This is a pretty spectacular journey as you get out of Athens and up into the mountains and is broken for a break at the Erato Hotel about halfway where you can stretch your legs and grab a quick snack - read beer and cigarette in my case!
