Mykonos had been intended as a stop over between Santorini and Samos, slightly rearranged as I had missed my ferry from Thira the day before - having read the wrong bus timetable! Here too I managed to miss my ferry - sitting in the wrong bar this time! But hey, no worries, except the fact that I had already paid for my ticket:(

Despite its reputation as a "tourist island" I kinda liked Mykonos, even though all I really saw was the main town Chora, which after a liesurely late lunch made for a pleasant place to wander, stopping off for an odd beer here and there, sitting watching the sundown and then off to the port to catch my overnight ferry on to Samos. What nobody told me was that there are TWO ports, the new port being a mile or so up the road! (See Warnings and Dangers for the story)

Pros and Cons

Pros:Chill laid-back Island atmosphere
Cons:Perhaps a little pricey
In a nutshell:No-one Told Me About The Second Port!
