Restaurant Name: The Corner Creperie
In search of breakfast I noticed the sign outside of this little terraced restaurant on a corner just before the square I just had to peruse the menu proper. This was a chill little place with its terrace overlooking one of the main streets with its comings and goings. Across the road an elderly woman was harangueing some builders working on the property next door, probably about the volume the guy supervising was screaming into his mobile phone rather than the noise created by the work being done! Sitting on the terrace watching the world go by in the mid-morning sun this was an ideal little out of the way spot.
Favorite Dish: Tempted though I was by the "scrumbled eggs" I just had honeyed yoghurt, croissant and coffee for about 4.5 euros, just the job.

Fira Town: Great View, Shame About The Pie!

Restaurant Name: Cafe Classico
This looked like an ideal spot for a late light lunch overlooking the caldera with its bow-tied waiter and upscale decor and so far as ambience, service and the view was concerned this is certainly a beautiful setting. Reading the menu however failed to excite and so I decided on that old Greek staple - the spinach pie. Unfortunately this turned out to be one of those horrible mass-produced things, all pastry and no filling, yuk! The service was reasonably good though and the bill not too extortionate.
Favorite Dish: The coffee was pretty good though and the view stunning!

Restaurant Name: Vallas Cafe
This was a discovery - just wandering and feeling a little peckish in the late morning. A deserted little blue and white cafe with a great view. So I just dropped in, unwontedly it was early June, the high cloudlets in the sky offsetting the azure of the caldera and the grandmother of the family fetched the son to interpret! I loved this breakfast - the son being a strapping lad of perhaps my own age, all mustaches and smiles - not the cheapest breakfast on the Island but definitely one of my favourites.
Favorite Dish: I went for the "healthy option" - boiled eggs, yoghurt with honey, toast, orange juice, coffee - I can't even remember how much it cost but I do remember it was just so chill, great view and absolutely delish and coffee was topped up as I lit my post-prandial!! cigarette. Yep, this was excellent!!!

Restaurant Name: Taverna Panorama, Thirassia
This was a great choice by our wonderful organisers during Euromeet 2007 - Cheers girls!! The rightly named "Panorama" restaurant sits at the top of the mule path leading up from the harbour here on Thirassia and the views are stunning. Even tho' there must have been 60 or so of us the service was excellent, the food spot on and the beer cold!! Well worth a visit :) Also well worth walking up to to get that first beer in as the mules can be a bit slow - well I always say the first beer has to be deserved ;)
Favorite Dish: I think I had the swordfish souvlaki and especially considering that we were a large party It was absolutely excellent, juicy meaty chunks of fresh fish with a subtle seasoning. The array of appetizers equally good and the bread delish. Salsagirl's moussaka looked good and by all accounts all enjoyed what they had.
