Stiletto Heels At St Davids Station!

If arriving at St Davids railway station whilst wearing high heels beware of the drainage runnel that runs in front of the entrance.

Unfortunately I wasn't quite fast enough with the camera to catch the whole episode (too busy laughing!) but the woman featured managed to get her boot heel caught in the grid over the drain. She attempted to just pull her booted foot free but must have reckoned that she was more likely to leave the heel behind than to free the boot intact.

So it was off with the boot and a gently levered exsertion!

What? No Booze!!

There are several excellent restaurants on Cathedral Yard here in Exeter overlooking the magnificent Gothic Cathedral and its attendant Green. During the summer most of these have outside tables which are understandably popular especially for a light lunch and to sit and watch the world go by (and especially the pretty girls!).

However be warned that a local bylaw prohibits the drinking of alcohol on Cathedral Yard (and the Green) and so the restaurants are not allowed to serve booze, even with meals, at their outside tables.

HA! Even I can go without a drink for the course of a leisurely lunchtime and the Well House pub is here too for that post-prandial beer!
