The Gateway To The Moor..........

..........and to escape back to Exeter!!

I must admit to having a liking for Moreton, well at least the pubs anyway, all of which are moor than friendly: all with good beer, decent food, not overpriced and there are regular buses both in and out - i.e, several a day (as opposed to one a week from Widecombe!).

This really is a nice little town, though perhaps not a destination in its own right - a place to stop by, ideal for lunch and maybe even for an overnight stay before heading into the Moor proper.

In a nutshell:More of a transit stop than a destination.

Right on! My wife and I were very thankful to find a great little pub for lunch there after striking out in Dartmoor NP over the busy Christmas holidays as we headed for Exeter.
