The Group

I was invited to join a group of teachers in their travels to Mexico. The Group Consisted of Myself, Janice, Connie, Jodie, Olivia, her daughter, Jessica, and her daughter, Catrina. At 4 in the morning, June 4, 2005, we met at Olivia's house to pack her van for the first leg the trip, a drive to Delisias.

At the Border

We got to Ojinaga about 10 am and had to get travel permits. This required a drivers license plue birth certificate or a Pass Port. It took us over 2 hours standing in line to get the passes. There was also a US$20 charge. In side the building they filled out the forms but outside we waited in slow lines to have the forms chacked and computer checked. The computers were very slow. The passport number of Jodie's form had been written incorrectly and she had to go back inside and get it changed. Olivia translated for us. We would have been lost without her help.

Olivia has family (in-laws) living in Delicias. We stayed Saturday and Sunday night with her Sister-in-law, Elsa. She has an nice town house on a clean street.
