How did I end-up in Warsaw for 3 days, you may ask?
Well, I bought myself a new mobile phone (a certain large Korean brand) in September 2006 and promptly went on the internet to try and download some more interesting ringtones.
Apparently, this had automatically entered me into a competition... I didn't even realize! Imagine the utter gob-smacking surprise and delight when I received a phone call a few days later, telling me that I've won a trip to see the Miss World Finals in Warsaw!
Now, you can imagine that plenty of my male friends were utterly upset at the fact that this prize (including bikini competition, etc.) was being "wasted on a girl". But - a true VTer never turns-down an opportunity to travel & I'd never been to Poland before, so I convinced my boss to give me some days-off at extremely short-notice, packed my bags and practised my best fake smile for the upcoming Gala ceremony...
(I am definitely NO fan of beauty contests... eeehr, the things I do for that extra bit of blue splodge on my VT world map...)

The whole city was geared-up for the Miss World 2006... this pub seemed to be desparately trying to attract the girls inside for catching a glimpse of those airbrushed beauties... haha!
