My first Girlie-holiday - my first trip to India - my first vacation planned almost solely based on VT members' tips -
how can I sum up my 10 days in Goa?
> Long, clean beaches
> Beautiful sunsets
> Lush greenery
> Warm-hearted people
> The soundtrack: Goa-Trance by night, the "aaah-aaah!" of crows by day
> Fabulous Indian cuisine
> Interesting markets
> Relaxed beach-shack atmosphere
> Friendly beach & street dogs
> Strong, cheap cocktails
> Sweet, juicy fruit
... ok, it's difficult to sum up.
We chose to visit Goa at the end of October: this is the very beginning of the high season for the region. The decision was made partly because we wanted to "escape" Ramadhan in Dubai,
partly because we still wanted to maybe catch the last of some of the monsoon rains,
partly because we wanted to be gone before all the trance-rave-pot-parties began,
and partly because flights & hotel rates are still cheaper during the off-season.
Also, I'm not keen to travel to any country in the middle of high-tourist-season, which for Goa is in December & January. I'm sure the parties are fun & lively, but raves and trance-parties are simply not my scene ;-)
So have a look at my tips & private albums to get an insight about this Indian / Portuguese / Hippi destination :-)
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did whilst "researching" them!

Pros and Cons
- Pros:Cheap! Relatively clean, safe and friendly
- Cons:Traffic, clingy street vendors, still slightly undeveloped in some areas
- In a nutshell:The perfect place to get to know India... from its good side!

You described a Goa very well which will help us who has not visited there like me. Beach pictures are missing but one is enough (me on the beach, lol)

Your tips and info sure entice one to visit Goas. Seems to have it all. Beach, night life, cocktails, great food and pretty cheap too. You sure found a great place to stay too. PS did you get to Prague yet!
