A bit of a let down

Most of us have been to Port Sudan because everyone said it was a good place to see. Hmm. It's different compared to the rest of the country because it is the port and on the sea. There are mountains behind the town, but really nothing much to do there. If you have the money you can hire a boat to go out to the coral reefs and scuba dive in the beautiful clear water, or take a glass bottomed boat to see the fish around the harbour area.
There are beaches to the north and south [kilo tamaania, Kilo 8] , but swimming was not easy for women. We wore jellabias which got wet and stuck to the legs when trying to swim. It's a man's world!

Trips up into the mountains may be possible, and it is fairly easy to get to the ruined port of Suakin by road
