Name of Shop: Hayes Valley
There is something for everyone on Hayes Street. There are great clothing and shoe stores, shops selling furniture and other household gifts, as well as a few great places to eat.
What To Buy: Clothing, shoes, household gifts, furniture...
What To Pay: Hayes Street isn't an inexpensive shopping area, yet it is not as high as some other areas.

Name of Shop: Alla Prima
This is the best lingerie in San Francisco. They carry mostly high end brands like La Perla and Aubage. They also have a nice selection of bathing suits (that you will not find in a department store).
What To Buy: Lingerie and bathing suits.
What To Pay: This is higher end and therefore, more expensive.

Name of Shop: Macy's Union Square
If you are an out-of -own guest and intend to shop at Macy's, you will be eligible for a discount. Go up to the visitor center (I think this is on the 7th floor). There, they provide light refreshments, and when you show them your out-of -town identification, they will give you a discount card that entitles you to receive 10 or 11%
What To Buy: The Macy's at Union Square is fantastic. They carry everything from clothing to homewares to cosmetics. Their merchandise ranges from the mid-priced brands to high-end designers. There is a separate store (located across the street from each other) for women and men. The women’s store is located on Geary right on Union Square. The Men's store is across the street from the side entrance to the women's store on Stockton.

Name of Shop: Macy's Union Square
If you are an out-of -own guest and intend to shop at Macy's, you will be eligible for a discount. The rule is that you are an out-of-town guest staying in a hotel, but I have not known them to check for hotel verification- they only ask for identification. Go up to the visitor center (I think this is on the 7th floor) in the Macy’s on Union Square. There, they provide light refreshments, and when you show them your out-of-town identification, they will give you a discount card that entitles you to receive 11%.
