  • Outside the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is the most amazing garden full of more beautiful Peonies than can even be imagined. The best time to see these flowers is in the Summer. These flowers are worth the trip.

GOLDEN GATE PARK: Where The Buffalo Roam
  • Tip Rating:
  • Go see the buffalo (or American Bison, as they are officially called) in the Buffalo Paddock in Golden Gate Park.

They can be found on John F. Kennedy Drive in the north/west corner of the park- basically between 41st Ave and Sunset Blvd/36th Ave.

  • This is a serene Redwood grove set in the middle of paradise- 805 acres. It is located along the picturesqe Guerneville Rd.

There are nice walks that can be taken throughout the park on self-guided trails and a picnic area.

Here are the official directions from the CA Govt Park website:

The reserve is located two miles north of Guerneville on Armstrong Woods Road. From Highway 101- coming North or South- take the River Road exit (in Santa Rosa). Go west on River Road until you reach Guerneville. At the second stop light make a right hand turn onto Armstrong Woods Road. This road will end in the park.

    17020 Armstrong Woods Road
    Guerneville, CA 95446

Superb restaurant tips & i just love, "cheese, lobsters & chocolate" My wife would love the lobster & I would love the chocolate. lol! Thought you might have had the Napa as an off the beaten path. Mind you I think Sonoma is just as good.

Great restaurant tips! (we have our table booked with Myth through open table.com) I can't believe that bushman is still there; I was a "victim" about 5 years ago. Very informative page ~ Helen
