Alcatraz: Visit Alcatraz- Even The Locals Visit
  • Tip Rating:
  • San Francisco Alcatraz
  • Alcatraz- View From The SF Bay

  • I am a local and highly recommend a visit to Alcatraz. Rent the headsets and learn a lot about the history of Alcatraz and the SF Bay! The audio tours are available in six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese).

This is a very popular tour destination and you must make reservations in advance. Try to do this even before you come- if possible.

There are multiple departures everyday to visit Alcatraz, starting at 9:30am with departures every 45 minutes thereafter until 2:15pm. The returns begin at 9:50am and every 45 minutes thereafter until 4:30pm.

The price for an adult with headsets is $16.00 and $10.75 for a child.

SF Giants Baseball: Giants Game At Our Great Ballpark
  • Tip Rating:
  • Since the names of our sports venues seem to continually change... I will leave the baseball stadium unnamed. Nevertheless, it is a really fun way to spend a few hours. Remember to bring a jacket, because it can get cold even if it is a sunny day.

Ticket prices run from $10 to $72 for Mon-Thurs games, and $12 to $77 for Fri- Sunday games.

Things To Do: Indulge Yourself at Spa Radiance

  • Spa Radiance is my favorite spa in San Francisco. Their menu of services is exhaustive, and everything is wonderful. The Spa is serene and it feels very exclusive once inside.

The facials are especially divine. This is a full service spa. You will need to make a reservation.

    Things To Do: Farmer's Market
  • Tip Rating:
  • I love to go to the Farmer's Market. It is now hosted outside (front and back) of the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero.

You will find delights like fresh fruits and vegetables, olive oils, nuts, honey, homemade tomales, Indian food, flowers, cheeses, baked goods, meats, etc. The best part about the Farmer's Market is that almost everyone gives you a taste!

Superb restaurant tips & i just love, "cheese, lobsters & chocolate" My wife would love the lobster & I would love the chocolate. lol! Thought you might have had the Napa as an off the beaten path. Mind you I think Sonoma is just as good.

Great restaurant tips! (we have our table booked with Myth through open table.com) I can't believe that bushman is still there; I was a "victim" about 5 years ago. Very informative page ~ Helen
