BOHOL, MY PLACE OF REFUGE AND SOLITUDE

by nodarcdam - last update: Jan 31, 2006

A PARADISE

BEAUTIFUL PUNGTOD ISLAND
My first travel to Bohol was an insignificant one as I went there for business reason. I stayed at Bohol Tropics Hotel in Tagbilaran City. It was a nice hotel with good view of the sea.

Last year, September 2004, I went back to Bohol for personal reasons. I took advantage of my vacation and went to Alona Beach in Panglao Island. That time, it was different. I fell in love with Panglao Island. Time was too short so I went back the next month.

Last October, 2004, I explored the other towns of Bohol and I marvelled at the beauty that Bohol could Offer. Even though I stayed at Alona Beach, I was able to reach different towns of Bohol by motorcycle. No, I dont know how to operate one but one can find a number of guides with motorcyles at Alona Beach. My guide and I were able to reach as far as Loboc and along the way, there were a lot of interesting places like Albor, Baclayon and Looc.

Early this year, I invited some of my friends and we went to Bohol and we stayed at Alona beach. Then in February 2004, I took a short vacation.

I am scheduled to go back to Bohol by the end of this month .

This is the first travel page that I wrote and it is only a very short introduction of how i love Bohol. Expect more as i will provide details and photos of my previous and forthcoming visits to the place I considered a paradise.

NATURAL WONDERS AND HISTORICAL/CULTURAL SITES

The hills, the rivers, the beaches, the mountains, waterfalls, caves, plants, trees, rare species of animals, marine creatures: Bohol is truly blessed by Mother Nature.

The churches, towers, landmarks, monuments, old houses, museum: Boholano's way of showing how to preserve them.

CHARMINGLY SIMPLE LIFE

I always admire (if not envy) the simplicity of the Boholanos, in general. They make you feel like a visitor and yet part of their community. No pretensions, just genuine friendship.
