FALLING IN LOVE WITH BOHOL | SUNRISE AT PANGLAO ISLAND |
When I was younger, I travel to have fun. I went to places frequented by throng of people and I sought active nightlife. As years went by, I have mellowed and travel to places which could give me a respite from the crowded and rowdy city life. Furthermore, I have limited my travels in various provinces in the Philippines.
There are many beautiful places in the Philippines. For me, however, Bohol is the best desitnation. There are countless reasons why I fell in love with Bohol and one of them is the solitude I found in this beautiful island.
The island of Bohol showcases the beautiful creation of nature. The sea, the coastline, the mountains, the hills, the small islands, the folliage. It also features interesting creations by its inhabitants. Most of all, it is inhabited by one of the friendliest people in our country. |
| | ENCHANTING SEA Being an island, there is water everywhere. Not just water, but clean and crystal clear water. The wonder of the sea does not extend to the surface, it extends underneath. The clear blue ocean is as beautiful as the array of colors underneath. |
PRISTINE BEACHES The whole island of Bohol has beaches that will captivate one's fancy. The most popular is the Panglao Island.
| | HILLS AND MOUNTAINS Its most popular destination is the Chocolate Hills in the town of Carmen. There are, however, other equally breathtaking hills and mountains to explore including, forests, waterfalls, cliffs and caves. |
FAUNAE Bohol houses various animals such as, the cuddly tarsiers, frolicking dolphins, colorful fish, exotic birds and the fascinating marine animals.
| | CHURCHES Whether big or small, simple to imposing, the churches in Bohol will surely capture one's attention. |
MONUMENTS, TOWERS, LANDMARKS There are structures which may no longer serve the purpose they were built but they serve as living reminders of Boholanos creative and collective efforts.
| | FRIENDLY PEOPLE Less posturing yuppies, social climbers, annoying rowdy crowds in Bohol. The Boholanos are generally friendly, courteous and simple people. |
