This is an example of "living in Rome". This is not a touristic restaurant. This is a pizzeria where roman people go. If you don't like queues, don't go there after 8 p.m. and ask for a table in the cave. Funny and friendly atmosphere, very low costs. It's a great place to eat roman pizza and other roman food. Absolutely my favourite pizzeria in Rome.

Favorite Dish: Any kind of pizza is great, but if you want my advice and you are not vegeterian, take "scamorza prosciutto e funghi".

Al Contadino Non Far Sapere Quanto E' Buono Il Formaggio Con Le Pere is a great example of roman pizzeria. You can have other italian food too, but they make a wondeful pizza. People are nice, the place is like a country house... A fantastic chance to have amazing food and a good evening at the same time.

Favorite Dish: Any kind of pizza. At the beginning they will provide everyone with pears and cheese slices with honey. To Try!

  • Restaurant Name: Formula Uno

Typical roman pizzeria in one of the trendiest areas of Rome. Formula Uno is very popular, maybe it's not a beautiful place to see but it's a great place to eat at. Romans, and tourists as well, are in love with this pizzeria. Fresh appetizers, good desserts, magnificent pizza, wonderful fried stuff. So easy to rich, absolutely in the top ten. Closed on sunday.

Favorite Dish: Any kind of pizza, and "Filetti di Baccalà fritti".

Alla Corte Dei Borboni: Napolitan Pizza

  • Restaurant Name: Alla Corte Dei Borboni

Napolitan pizza is heavier and thicker than the Roman one. So it's up to you. "Alla Corte dei Borboni" is the best example of Napolitan pizza you can have in Rome. The atmosphere is great, waiters are dressed in typical ancient napolitan dresses, the menu is typically napolitan. Something that can change your life. Booking necessary on weekends.

Favorite Dish: "Pizza Amalfitana" (buffalo mozzarella, rucola and lemmon slices) and "Mozzarella in Carrozza" (fried buffalo mozzarella slices)

    Rugantino: Typical Food

Once I've heard: "wow! Italian food in Italy is even better in Rome than in Italian restaurants in New York!". Hell, yeah! If you really wanna taste Italian food you don't have any other option but to eat it in Italy. And if you want to taste Roman flavours and typical dishes, Rugantino is my choice. Maybe it's not the best one, but my opinion is that it gives you the best quality/price rate. Roman kitchen is based on poor things, but very tasteful and yummy. Vegetarians may have some problems in picking dishes. Have a nice dinner!

Favorite Dish: "Pasta alla Carbonara", "Pasta alla Amatriciana" and ""Saltimbocca alla Romana".

Wonderful Roma page! I love the Pellacchia bar on Via Cola di Rienzo for their ice cream too! Each time I am in Roma I make sure I go there at least two times!
