A surprisingly pleasant travel experience Why had I waited for so long to visit Taipei? To such a city which is so close to HK (only an hour and 15 mins. flight). People had been telling me that it's a city for a quick break if you like eating street food and killing time in book shops. I had yet heard from ANYBODY who would highly recommend Taipei for a holiday destination. How wrong was I by letting other people influencing my own decisions. Why do we always have to have an 'expectation' about everything? Isn't it better to expect nothing and just enjoy and experience what we get?
Now after 4 days in Taipei, I can now go back and ask my friends what they were thinking when they were slagging Taipei off? My boyfriend and I just loved it!! We both had a great time there. I especially love the people and the street food culture.
Taiwan I will be back soon! |
| | Scenic Taiwan I have been told that the countryside is very beautiful and they are right, Jiu Fen is by far my favourite. Very cute little town with narrow stairs going up and down the hill and local shops alongside. A must place to visit. |
| | Food in Taipei You haven't been to Taipei unless you have tried to street food. The most famous one is Shi Lin Night Market and there are actually many night and food markets in scattered in and around Taipei and each has their own specialty food - my favourite is stinky tofu, not stinky at all and in fact scrumptious. |
