a place you most go once in your life

THE DIAMOND BOAT
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Egypt the first week doing a Nile cruise starting in Luxor ,the first day of the cruise was spent in Luxor going around the Temple of Karak and then on to the Temple of Luxor were the boat (THE DIAMOND BOAT) we were cruising on was moored .
The second day of the cruise started with a early weak up call for breakfast 5.30 am then on to the coach for the trip to the valley of kings on the west bank arriving as the ticket office opened. With us being early we had the valley to our selves so we could have a good look at the tombs we chose without a lot of other tourist around .after the tombs we left the valley around 8.30am the crowds were just building and it was getting hot so the early call was worth it .
Next stop was the alabaster factory for the sales routine quite interesting how the alabaster is worked and a good place to get cool for a while before back onto he coach and on to Hapshepsut Mortuary Temple rebuilt in the 1920s and very impressive ,the final stop of the morning was the Valley of the Queens a lot smaller then the Valley of the Kings the best tomb Nefertari at the time we were there was closed for restoration but the tomb of Ramses111 son Kheamwaset is very good .
From the Queens we went the short distance to the Colossi Of Memnon all that remains of Amenhotep 111 mortuary temple, the mobile toilets got well used here £5.00 LE for the loo paper
Back onto the boat to be welcomed with hot towels and hot lemon juice ,time to shower and up to the restaurant for a buffet dinner ,at 1.30pm we set sail for Edfu 60 miles up the Nile so the afternoon was spent sun bathing ,dipping in and out of the pool and a few cold beers as we watched life past us by on the Nile
